4 challenges in 1

This card is for the following challenges:

Cuttlebug - Challenge no. 5 - Embossing on a metallic finish
~ The snowflake disk is embossed using the small Christmas set of embossing folders and the material is a sheet of aluminium - so truly metallic! Unfortunately it looks black in the photo but I assure you it is a sparkling silver in reality.

Secret Crafter - Challenge no.5 - A sketch and also to use pink, white and brown
~ I have followed the sketch although I've stretched it to fit a rectangular card rather than square. I've used all the colours although I have added the green as well, the stitching is all brown.

Kaboodle Doodles - Challenge no. 10 - Christmas Brights
~ Well I certainly think this is a bright card and is even more so in real life.

Papertake Weekly - Simply Sparkling
~ I have glittered the snowman although once again this doesn't show up too well. The metal disk certainly sparkles in the light.

Here's Jill's sketch:

And here's my card:

I just can't decide if I like this card or not, the colours are not what I would usually choose and I guess that means I'm out of my comfort zone which is perhaps not a bad thing. Please let me know what you think.

Cuttlebug Challenge 3

I popped over to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog earlier just to see what the challenge was this week and I got carried away and have finished my item already!

This weeks challenge has been set by Trudi and is 'to create something other than a card or to alter an item using your embossing folders'.

I'd already decided that I am going to make little Christmas gift boxes which will either contain hand made choccies or biscuits so I've been saving little cartons and boxes to be decorated. I thought this was the ideal opportunity to make a start on these and this is what I've come up with. There are 3 different views so hopefully you can get an idea of what the whole tin looks like.
I've used a small cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss a sheet of metal and have then cut this out and stuck it in the top of my tin.

Other items used are:
Paper from Dovecraft 'Christmas Traditional' pack
Skittle-de-doo Sizzix Alphabet
Penny Black 'Xmas Kisses' stamp water coloured with pencils
Green ribbon from 'Anitas'
And of course a custard tin!

I wonder if I'll be the first to post my creation on the cuttlebug blog??!!

Cuttlebug Challenge 2

This is a card I've made for challenge no. 2 over on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. The challenge was to make either a fall or halloween themed card. I've made halloween atc's but never a card as I've never sent or received cards for this occasion. I always like to try something new so I decided to make a halloween card.

I've used:

Plain black and orange cardstock
Swiss dots cuttlebug folder inked with black stazon ink
Skittle-de-doo Sizzix Alphabet
Witch image was given to me by a fellow crafter a while back, but not sure of it's origin.
I've coloured the image using watercolour pencils

I had great fun making this card, I just need to decide what to do with it now - I don't want to consign it to the bottom of a drawer but I can't think who to send it to!!
