Another Birthday Card

I was asked to make another card like the dressing room card I made last week. It is much the same but it has the birthday girls name on rather than an age and the inside has some slight variations. I really enjoyed making this card and like the finished result, even though it is quite a time consuming card to produce.

Here's the front:

And the inside:

Hope you like it.

June Mystery Swap ATC's

I hosted another mystery swap last month and as the closing date has just been and gone I've been sorting out the swaps and getting them all in the post. As before each person who signed up to the swap was then told what they had to use on their atc's. This month the three items which had to be used in some way were:

  • A safety pin
  • A pipe cleaner/chenille stem
  • A J-cloth

Everyone's atc's were excellent as always with some very ingenious ideas of how to use the objects. Here's what I came up with:

I love the little kilt which is made out of pleated paper, but I'm not so happy with the other two. I found the items quite difficult to use especially as I hadn't started making mine until I had already received quite a few from other people and I was determined to come up with something different to everyone elses! Hope whoever receives them likes them.

Half way there!

I had to share my news. I'm half way there!

What am I talking about - the dreaded diet. I decided a while ago enough was enough and I needed to lose some weight in order to feel comfortable in myself and to hopefully be able to get into all my clothes which have been gradually moved to the back of my cupboard when they no longer fitted. I still live in my little cloud of denial that really it was all my clothes shrinking and not me expanding!! But I am determined they will fit again or in fact if I reach my goal they will be too big.

Anyway I set myself a target of a two and a half stone weight loss and today I have reached 1 stone and 4 pounds lost so I am half way there - yay!

Bye for now from a really happy

Birthday Card

I was asked to make a birthday card for a colleagues husband today. She told me his hobby/interest was scuba diving and asked if I could incorporate that and his name in some way. I decided on a humorous cartoon type image of a scuba diver and then simply added 'Happy Birthday Sandeep'. I think it is quite a simple card but I always find cards for men harder to make.

Here it is!

The caption under the picture reads 'Don't eat the hard bits on the back, they'll give you gas'.

Black and White Inchies

As you know I hosted and took part in an inchie swap recently. I thought the inchies I received were fantastic and didn't want to hide them away in a box or such like. So I have decorated a frame and framed them all, they now have pride of place in my workroom above my notice board. Here's a picture of all the inchies I received, some are RAK's which were sent to me for hosting the swap and there are also a couple of extra ones of mine.

I hope you'll all agree they are fabulous and look great displayed in the frame, I'm really pleased with it and really appreciate every one's hard work that went into making them. I'm going to enjoy looking at it when I'm in the work room and am looking forward to displaying more of the swaps I have received.

What a morning!

Wow, what a morning I've had. I woke up this morning looked out into the garden and saw a hedgehog on the lawn, bit late to still be out but he was moving around so I didn't think anything of it. About an hour later I looked out again and it was sill there, something not right. I went out and had a look the poor thing had a cut behind its ear and was not looking too good. It was in the shade so I left it while I tried to find out what to do. We used to have a little wildlife sanctuary near us but it closed a while back so who do you phone? I phoned tiggiwinkles but they were not very interested so I called my vet to ask who to take it to and they immediately just said bring it here and we'll sort it out. I took it and they were great explaining what they would do and that they would let me know how it was getting on. What a fantastic service.

After dropping the hedgehog off at the vets I went on to do a bit of shopping, thinking it would be quite quiet on a Monday morning, boy was I wrong, I think everyone in the area had decided to go to the same shop as me at the same time, it was packed and the queues were awful. On top of that they were servicing about half the fridges so there were no yogurts, dairy products or fresh fish available. Oh well I guess I'll just have to brave the shops another day this week.

Then I was home about an hour and a half later than I had hoped. At least the sun is shining and the sky is blue here at the moment. I need to go and post my blog candy off to Bubbles and I've got a card to make for a graduation and I must get it done today so I'm off to try and complete it. There just aren't enough hours in the day sometimes but I'll let you know how I get on.

1000 Visitors & Blog Candy

I can't believe my blog has had 1000 visitors. I thought I'd just say thank you so much for looking and please keep leaving me comments, I love to read what you think about my creations and what I've been doing.

I know it is only 1000 visitors which is not that many in the grand world of blogging but I am really pleased that people want to look at what I've been doing and keep coming back for further visits.

As a thank you, I'm got my first lot of blog candy to give away, nothing spectacular but I'll have a root around in all my crafty drawers and find a nice selecetion of bits and pieces for one lucky person. All you have to do is leave a comment on this message and I'll pick a winner out of the hat after the weekend. Please check back next week to see if you have won!!

Birthday Card

Another miserable day here today, just got the washing out this morning and it started to rain and it hasn't really stopped since, hoping it gets better for the weekend.

I made a birthday card this morning for one of my mother's work colleagues. All I knew about her was what Mum said - which was she's a girly girl and likes pink! This is what I came up with. The first picture is of the outside of the card. I wanted to keep this simple and I think what I've done says everything!

The second picture is of the inside of the card. I took inspiration for this card from a picture of another card I found while searching through google. I am really pleased with the finished result and think I've managed to create a sophisticated girly card.
